Ruth's Travelogue on the City of Hamilton

Saturday we ate lunch overlooking Front Street, took a quick look around Fort Hamilton with outstanding panoramic views of Hamilton Harbour and the city, and then Joe bought another set of Bermuda shorts, Bermuda socks (made in Canada), and a Bermuda shirt (from Hong Kong) before we caught the ferry back.

Sunday after enjoying worship at Peace Lutheran Church, congregational members gave us two dozen tourists from Willowbank who came by taxi rides to downtown from their gracious and welcoming congregation across from the Botanical Gardens. After we ate lunch, overlooking Front Street from the other direction, we walked outside to see the Great Art Festival by the Sea, voted on our favorite artwork and watched the steel band--we liked The Bermuda Institute Steel Band that came and performed for us at Willowbank much better--and the Scottish Bagpipes and dancers, RRRR for our last full day of Renewal, Rest, Relaxation, and Recreation on this Bermuda visit, May 16-21, 2001. We walked up to the bus station, bought tokens, and about an hour later were back at Willowbank for our favorite Afternoon Tea, then a swim, shower, five-course dinner, and entertaining awesome concert by the inspirational Warrennaires.
